Anagram / HAY / 2022

The design of the Anagram lamp was an exercise in arranging the elements of an archetypal desktop bank tellers lamp typology; a glossy arched shade that evokes nostalgia, combined with a pair of more unusual contemporary legs. The form was inspired by a popular brutalist architectural site in the UK, a combination of curves, grids and spliced intersecting uprights, overall a well balanced object that feels familiar, but with its own unique slightly quirky yet memorable character.

Anagram is built around two standard E14 (EU) or E12 (US) LED light bulbs, integrates a familiar on/off onboard toggle switch and is available in four colours. The lamp aims to be both direct and intuitive in its construction and function.
